LOLER Review 2025

As part of a review of the current regulatory framework, the Government has announced a review of a number of regulations, including those for health and safety. In what they class as older, prescriptive legislation, this encompasses the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER), first introduced in 1998. 

CPA has contacted the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to get a better picture of what the review entails and who would be involved. Their response is that the review is in the very early stages of planning and have assured us that all CPA-led lifting-based groups are considered key stakeholders to the review process.
