Eco-operating Courses now CITB Grant-aided
Several years ago, various CPA Members and CPA Technical Staff devised an eco-operator short course to allow plant operators to learn about issues relating to the lowering of on-site emissions and fuel saving techniques. The provision of this type of course led to the development of a Eco-operating Training Delivery Framework produced by the Plant Sector Representative Organisation (PSRO) and the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS).
The next stage was to seek CITB grant-aid which has led the employer-derived eco-operator course being converted into a CITB short duration training course. Learning content of the course covers topics such as:
- Why industry is tackling the reduction and elimination of carbon-based emissions through Net Zero
- What causes plant-based harmful emissions and the local, national and global effects on others
- The principles of how machine-based carbon emissions can be reduced
- Recognising the benefits of carbon emission reduction
- Applying learnt reduction techniques and operational processes that reduce carbon emissions for a range of plant types
- Recognising how emerging machine technologies can reduce or eliminate carbon emissions
- Taking personal ownership of the need to reduce emissions
- Encouraging and supporting the sector in emission reduction
Course duration is three hours and CITB-levy paying employers can claim the Tier 1 grant of £60. Course code is GET 3447.
