18th July marked the Annual CPA Fundraising Golf Day hosted at Rutland Water Golf Course which has an 18 hole Championship Normanton course on the edge of Rutland Water near Oakham.
It was a gloriously sunny day and we were delighted to welcome over 30 players to the event, making up a total of 10 teams. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Lighthouse Club which provides emotional, physical and financial support to the construction community and their families. Special thanks to Ceryn Turner, Regional Ambassador for the Lighthouse Club, for supporting and attending the Golf Day.
Those taking part in the Golf Day were greeted by a huge Lighthouse Club branded RSP Suction Excavator provided by Force One, who took part in the Golf Day. The unit has already been showcased on some of the leading construction sites across the UK to raise awareness of the Lighthouse Club’s work, and it was brought along to the Golf Day to show additional support. The striking Lighthouse Truck is available to hire across the UK through the Force One team. Each time the vehicle is hired, Force One make a donation to the charity.
Special thanks also go to the Golf Day sponsors, who have helped boost the charity donation, namely headline sponsor Thomas Group, Global Crane Services who sponsored the Longest Drive and RSP UK Suction Excavators who sponsored the Nearest the Pin. Thank you also to the many companies who supported the event by submitting golfing teams.
There were some impressive glass awards up for grabs for the winners of the competition. The competition was an individual stableford, together with a team stableford competition. Prizes were awarded for the winning individual and team, as well as nearest the pin.
Congratulations to Thomas Group who were victorious as team winners. Ross Webb of London Tower Cranes won the individual competition and Reece Baker of RSP UK won the longest drive. Matthew Keane of London Tower Cranes won nearest the pin.
