The Government has enhanced its Youth Guarantee initiative to ensure that every young person aged 16 to 24 has the support and opportunities they need to get into work or education.
Over the next three years, the government will invest an additional £2.5 billion in the Youth Guarantee and Growth and Skills Levy, supporting almost a million young people and unlocking up to 500,000 jobs, training and learning opportunities.
Incentives for Employers
Employers are integral to the success of the Youth Guarantee and the Government has expanded its support to employers. Here’s what you could access:
- £1,000 for employers who hire apprentices aged 16-18
- £2,000 Apprenticeship hiring payment for smaller businesses (non-levy employers), in England, taking on a new apprentice aged 16 to 24, as part of a drive to create 50,000 more apprenticeships for young people, available from October 2026.
- £3,000 Youth Jobs Grant for every person aged 18 to 24 you hire across Great Britain who has been looking for work for six months or more, available from June 2026.
