Staying Safe When Operating Forward Tipping Dumpers

As a result of a series of serious incidents and fatalities involving Forward Tipping Dumpers, this safety guidance publication is aimed principally at operators for refresher training purposes. It has been divided into three sections including a ‘stay safe by’ list of actions for operators, the underpinning knowledge providing the ‘how’s and why’s’ of each action – designed to provide assistance for tool box talks and one-to-one familiarisation activities – and a section for managers and supervisors in terms of planning and supervision requirements. The publication includes a case study which outlines the causes and consequences of the activity and how it can be prevented
