The guidance in this publication covers the majority of conventional and frequently encountered excavation schemes in the UK, together with the most commonly available shoring solutions for these schemes. Major, high risk or unusual shoring schemes will always require highly experienced shoring design specialists to be involved in their planning, design and management. It is recommended that for any high risk shoring a recognised specialist designer is engaged early in the planning process.
