The CPA has sent in its proposals ahead of next month’s Budget, the first to be delivered by the new Chancellor, John Healey.
The CPA’s proposals are evidence-based, deliverable, and align with the Government’s ambitions for reindustrialisation, housing and supporting those not in education, employment or training into work. Each of the below proposals are set out alongside evidence as to how they could be practically delivered.
We are calling for the following actions:
- Set out a clear timetable for extending Full Expensing to plant-hire companies.
- Reverse the employer National Insurance increase, or introduce a targeted exemption for capital-intensive sectors.
- Commission a Treasury-led review of the revenue raised by the changes to Business Property Relief and Inheritance Tax, set against the cost to investment and jobs.
- Extend the Fuel Duty cut and reduce duty on commercial diesel.
- Establish a Domestic Low-Carbon Fuel Fund.
- Develop of a robust public-private partnership (PPP) framework for infrastructure delivery.
