British Concrete Pumping Interest Group

The BCPG was formerly a small independent trade association called the British Concrete Pumping Association. This amalgamated with the CPA and thereafter became a Special Interest Group within the CPA. A steering committee was formed, representing hirers, manufacturers and other interested parties such as the HSE. This committee meets quarterly to discuss issues affecting the industry and to raise standards within the sector.

The group has written a number of publications over the years, including the Safe Use of Concrete Pumps – a CPA Good Practice Guide’ which has been updated in 2025.

In addition, the Group has worked to develop a British Standard for concrete pumping such as BS 8476:2007 – Code of Practice for the safe use of concrete pumps. The group continue to develop training courses for qualifications and competency cards and safety/environmental issues will be monitored with the aim of improving standards in the sector.

The BCPG is currently Chaired by Brendan Murphy of Camfaud Ltd.
