We’ve been sadly informed that Brent Bolton, after recently retiring from the HSE, passed away last Thursday after succumbing to cancer and follows a number of health issues that he has overcome over the years.
Many CPA members would have known Brent not only as our liaison person within the HSE, attending many CPA meetings and a prolific contributor to many of the CPA publications, but was a true friend to us all at CPA and the plant sector in general.
Brent’s legacy is his unstinting work in raising safety standards for plant operations, representing HSE on and being an integral part of, the CPA Special Interest Groups, Plant Safety Group, CPCS and NPORS card schemes etc. amongst many others. He was always willing to offer practical advice and guidance in helping members and the plant sector in general to meet its safety obligations in a calm and concise way. It goes without saying that Brent will be sorely missed, but we can reflect on the great legacy that he has left.
We have asked to be kept informed of the funeral and other arrangements and will post when we have more details. We will make further arrangements to honour his achievements and impacts on the plant sector.
